    Authorities throughout East Tennessee were looking for two machine gun-toting men who robbed Harriman Revco and at one time were thought to be holding employees hostage inside the store. Employees were in the process of closing the store when the 9 p.m. incident occurred. An undetermined amount of cash and drugs were taken.

    • Bradbury United Methodist Church, Kingston, will have an Easter egg hunt beginning at 11 a.m. Those participating are asked to bring a dozen eggs, if possible, either plastic or real. Lunch will be served afterward. The church is at 3506 Buttermilk Road West.

  • Rockwood Public Library is finalizing plans for its annual book sale.

    The book sale will be from April 12-May 3 in the library at 117 N. Front Ave.

    The sale will take place during normal library hours.

    Rockwood Public Library is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

    The library has extended hours from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.

  • Randy Rollins has been promoted to the rank of master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.

    Rollins, son of Pleas and Diana Rollins of Rockwood, is a 1999 graduate of Rockwood High School.

    He is presently serving as senior controller with 436th Maintenance Squadron, Dover Air Force Base, Del.

    He has served in the military for 14 years.

    Rollins is the husband of Kathy Rollins of Wyoming, Del.
