Harriman First Christian Church is undergoing some changes.

Member Becky Ells said it is an exciting period for the church. Randy Tucker has been filling the pulpit as senior minister until Josh Head assumes his duties on Oct. 17.  

Head comes to Harriman from Decatur, Ala., Christian Church, where he served as senior minister for more than six years.  

“If you are in the process of finding a church, come visit and worship with us,” Ells said.

W.D. “Bud” Chapman was recently presented with a plaque of recognition commemorating his many years of service to Shiloh Baptist Church.  

Chapman’s conversion and baptism was in the mid-1950s when a Cherokee Indian minister, the Rev. Robert Bushyhead, led a revival at the church.

His contributions to the church include teaching the adult men’s Sunday school class for years. He and his wife, Alice, founded and helped lead the Shiloh senior ministry for 15 years.

Ruby Lee Wilson Duesler celebrated her 90th birthday on Oct. 4 with family members at Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Duesler is the daughter of the late Pat and Easter Stephens. She is the widow of the late Aught Wilson.

Her children and spouses are Lee Delno and Sheena Wilson, Donald Monroe and Becky Wilson, the late David Adam and the late Joyce Wilson, Wanda M. and Jimmy Pelfrey and Glenda T. and the late Warren Bishop.

There are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Clint Taylor Hallcox and Tara Lee Albright were married on May 15 in Luminary United Methodist Church, Ten Mile.

The Rev. Louis Rouse officiated during the 1 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Jim and Ingrid Albright of Philadelphia. She is a 2008 graduate of Midway High School.
