  • Mikey Wax, an up-and-coming independent artist, will stop in Kingston for a  free concert at 7 p.m. Aug. 20 in Morrison Hill Christian Church Teen Center.

  • More than 50 art, craft, food and business vendors are signed up for this year’s Hooray for Harriman Labor Day Street Festival.

    The festival, which moves back to its downtown origins this year, starts at 10 a.m. Sept. 6 at the Princess Theater.

    An entire city block will be devoted to antique cars for aficionados to peruse.

    Youngsters will also have their own city block devoted to games and fun.

  • Three Rivers Ramblers Square Dance Club has a weekly beginning square-dance class from 7 to 9 p.m. each Monday starting Sept. 13.

    Classes will be in Harriman American Legion Hall on Morgan Street.

    The first class is free; subsequent classes will be $4 per class.

    Refreshments will be available.

  • Harriman Music Club will begin its 101st season on Sept. 16 with a covered-dish picnic at 6 p.m. at the home of George and Margie Wadlington.

    An instrumental ensemble from Roane County High School, under the direction of Zack Williamson, will provide special entertainment.

    In case of rain, the event will be in Redeemer Lutheran Church, Midtown.
