    Elizabeth Virginia Stone Gough, 95, of Oliver Springs, died Thursday, March 15, 2012, in NHC HealthCare of Oak Ridge.

    Survivors include two daughters, Claudia Googe, Louisiana, and Virginia Silvey, Oliver Springs.

    Funeral service was at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 17, in Sharp Funeral Home, Oliver Springs, with Pastor Garvan Walls and Pastor Ben Graham officiating. Burial was at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

    J.D. Arthur, 81, of Kingston, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012, at his home.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Arthur.

    Survivors include three sons, Michael Arthur, Harriman, Gene Arthur, Canyon County, Calif., and James D. Arthur, Kingston; a brother, A.J. Arthur, Cleveland; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

    Gladys S. Collins, 98, of Harriman, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012, in Fort Loudoun Medical Center.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Baumgartner; her second husband, Roscoe F. Collins; and a son, Glenn Baumgartner.

    She was a longtime member of South Harriman Baptist Church.

    Georgia Dagley Eastridge, 89, of Coalfield, died Monday, March 12, 2012, at her home.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Eastridge; and her parents, John Dagley and Nina Ruffner Dagley.

    Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Cashon, Cocoa, Fla., Sheila Melhorn, Coalfield, and Lynne Woods, Maryville.

    Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 16, at Estes Cemetery, Coalfield with Pastor Mitch Melhorn officiating. Sharp Funeral Home, Oliver Springs, is in charge of arrangements.

  • Glen Franklin Hester Jr.

    Glen Franklin Hester Jr., 47, of the Sugar Grove Valley community in Roane County, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012, in University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville.

    He was born May 8, 1964, in Harriman. He was a lifelong resident of Roane County.

    He worked as a manager at Kroger in Midtown before his disability. He was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church.

    He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed woodworking with his dad and taking care of his lawn.

  • Clyde Houston

    Clyde Houston, 77, of Ten Mile, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at his home.

    He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Union Lodge 38, F&AM. He was a well-known farmer in the area, was a former Roane County commissioner and the former Roane County coroner.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita; his parents, Ed and Opal Houston; a daughter, Teresa Darlene Houston; and two sisters, Pauline Ebel and Aileene Houston.

  • Ardella Newport Pennington

    Ardella Newport Pennington, 87, of Oak Ridge, formerly of the Mays Valley community in Roane County, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012, in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.

    She was born March 29, 1924, in Morgan County. Following her marriage, she moved to Roane County, where she continued to live until her move to Oak Ridge in 2006.

    She was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

    Augusta Faye Johnson, 91, of Harriman, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012, in Roane Medical Center.

    She was a member of Braxton Chapel AME Zion Church, where she served as an usher and clerk and also served on the Kitchen Committee. She retired from Martin Marietta following 12 years of service.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Johnson; four sisters, Ella Spiller, Katherine Hunter, Flora Hall and Cecile Hall; and a brother, Elijah Robinson.

    Bonnie Reed Peacock, 84, of Winter Park, Fla., formerly of Rockwood, died Saturday, March 10, 2012, at her residence.

    She was born Jan. 9, 1928, in Rockwood, to Willie and Bessie Hatfield Reed. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a secretary with Roane Memorial Gardens.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James H. Peacock; and a son, James E. Peacock.

    Christine Miles Cromwell, 78, of Harriman, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, March 12, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her family.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mattie Kelley Miles; a brother, Cleveland Miles; and two sisters, Cynthia Torres and Charlotte Teasly.
