  • Clarence Albert Devaney

    Clarence Albert Devaney, born May 5, 1923, age 88, of Rockwood, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012, in Roane Medical Center.

    He was a World War II U.S Navy Veteran. He was formerly a chemist with Tennessee Products & Chemical Corp. and later worked as a truck driver for Scandlyn Lumber Co. He retired from Chamberlain Memorial Hospital as a maintenance worker.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Sallie Stricklan Devaney; his wife, Julia Mae Roddy Devaney; and a son, Ronald David Devaney.

  • Tommy Fox

    Tommy Fox, 60, of Rockwood, died Friday, March 9, 2012, in Parkwest Medical Center, Knoxville.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, William George “Red” Fox and Mildred Naomi “Omi” Barnes Fox.

    Funeral services were at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 11, in Evans Mortuary chapel, Rockwood, with William F. Fox and Butch Evans officiating. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery, Rockwood.

  • April Leigh Murray

    April Leigh Murray, 34, of Cookeville, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at her home.

    She was born in Knoxville on April 16, 1977, a daughter of David Lee Letzinger and Jaymee Ruth Murray. She was a member of Harriman First Christian Church and Washington Avenue Baptist Church, Cookeville. She worked with food services at Cookeville High School. She was a loving, devoted mother, daughter, sister and friend.

  • Anna Marie Reeder

    Anna Marie Reeder, 82, of Oliver Springs, died Monday, March 12, 2012, in NHC of Oak Ridge.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Reeder; and her parents, Samuel Nelson and Clara Gray Nelson.

    Survivors include two sons, David Reeder, Texas, and Randy Reeder, Livonia, Mich.

  • Fred White Jr.

    Fred White Jr., 90, of Oliver Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 11, 2012, at his home while surrounded by his family.

    He was born Sept. 22, 1921, in Briceville. He grew up in Lake City and moved to Oliver Springs 60 years ago. Before his retirement, he was employed by Union Carbide for five years as a firefighter and a guard. He drove a coal truck for Walls and Coker for more than 30 years, and he retired from West Coal Co. of New River in Anderson County.

  • Benjamin Thomas ‘Benny’ Walls

    Benjamin Thomas “Benny” Walls, 88, of Oliver Springs, died Monday, March 12, 2012, in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Mae Halburnt Walls; and his parents, Algie Walls and Pearl Giles Walls.

    Survivors include a daughter, Clara Crooks, Mohawk, Tenn.; and two sons, John Walls, Farmington, Minn., and Leroy Walls, Chattanooga.

  • Jeffery Tracy

    Jeffery Tracy, 53, of Kingston, died Friday, March 9, 2012.

    Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jane Marie Tracy, Kingston; and his mother, Shirley Slicker, Kingston.

    David A. Bertoli, 73, of Oliver Springs, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Renaissance Terrace Care and Rehabilitation Center, Harriman.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Eleanor Hurt Bertoli.

    Survivors include a daughter, Candy Rae Bertoli, San Rafael, Calif.; and a son, Leon Roy Bertoli, Carroll, Iowa.

    Service was between 4 and 7 p.m. Friday, March 9, at 212 Burney Drive, Oliver Springs, with Pastor Mark Bass officiating. Sharp Funeral Home, Oliver Springs, was in charge of arrangements.

  • Dorothy Cora Lane

    Dorothy Cora Lane, 91, of the Frost Bottom community in Anderson County, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, at her home.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy Lane; her parents, Edward and Annie Hoskins Lively; and a daughter, Delores Gail Lane Johnson.

    Survivors include a daughter, Diane Lane, Frost Bottom; and four sons, Douglas Lane, David Lane and Darrell Lane, all of Frost Bottom, and Dwight Lane, Oak Ridge.

  • Bernice K. Remley

    Bernice K. Remley, 87. of Kingston, died Friday, March 9, 2012, in Parkwest Medical Center, Knoxville.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Remley Sr.

    Survivors include four children, Gilbert Remley, Jo Ann Criste, Karen Lemons and Bryan Remley.

    Funeral service was at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 11, in Kyker Funeral Home chapel, Kingston. Burial was at Hazelwood Cemetery.
