    Velma L. Johnson

    Velma L. Johnson, 87, of Lenoir City, died Thursday, April 29, 2010.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Enos “Boney” Johnson; and his parents, William C. Lee and Lucinda Brummitt Lee.

    Survivors include two sons, William “Bailey” Johnson and Steve R. Johnson, both of Lenoir City.

    Funeral service was at  7 p.m. Saturday, May 1, in Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City, with the Rev. Eddie Click officiating. Burial was at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 2, at Woodlawn Cemetery.

     

  • Margaret 'Magoo' Robinson

    Margaret ‘Magoo’ Robinson

    Margaret “Magoo” Robinson of Hixson, formerly of Harriman, passed away Friday, April 30, 2010.

    She retired after 30 years as a junior high school teacher at Rockwood High School and had previously taught for more than 20 years in Virginia and Alabama.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Charlie” Robinson.

    Aldie Mae Carter

    Aldie Mae Carter, 99, of Rockwood, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, in Cumberland Medical Center, Crossville. 

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Alf and Paralee Kilby Kirkland; two daughters, Lennie Eddington and Ruth Mae Eddington; and three sons, Ray, James and William E. Carter.

    Survivors include five daughters, Helen Green, Dayton, Ohio, Jessie Waits, Audrey Carter, Glendith Henry and Sue Carter, all of Rockwood, and Lennie McFalls, Kingston; and a son, Jay Carter, Rockwood.

    Clifford ‘C.A.’ Moore

    Clifford “C.A.” Moore, 86, of Rockwood, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2010.

    A member of Caney Ford Baptist Church, he was a World War II veteran in the 1st Marine Division. He retired from Martin Marietta in 1988. He enjoyed playing golf.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Ila Moore; a son, Jeff Moore; a grandson, Jeremy Moore; and a brother, Fred Moore.

    Richard Drew Moore

    Richard Drew Moore, 57, of Harriman, died Monday, April 26, 2010.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Drew Jay Moore and Dollie Irene Singleton Moore.

    Survivors include his wife, Betty Moore; a daughter, Angela Moore; and a son, Derick Moore.

    Funeral service was at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg, with Bro. William Moore officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, at Mossy Grove Church Cemetery.

    Ronald Jay Seiber

    Ronald Jay Seiber, 57, of Oliver Springs, died Friday, April 23, 2010, in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.

    He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Thelma Seiber.

    Survivors include his father, Dennis Seiber, Oliver Springs; his wife, Marilyne Seiber, Oliver Springs; and a daughter, Tammie Tyke, Clinton.

    Funeral service was at 7 p.m. Monday, April 26, in Sharp Funeral Home chapel, Oliver Springs, with Pastor Garvan Walls officiating. Burial was at noon Tuesday, April 27, at Anderson Memorial Gardens, Clinton.

    Patricia Ann Fox Walls

    Patricia Ann Fox Walls, 62, of Knoxville, died Friday, April 23, 2010. 

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and June Babb Fox.

    Survivors include her husband, Mike Walls, Knoxville.

    The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 8, in Sharp Funeral Home, Oliver Springs. Memorial service will follow. A celebration  of life event will be at a later date.

    Robert Stanton ‘Bobby’ Archey Sr.

    Robert Stanton “Bobby” Archey Sr., 74, of Rockwood, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010, in Roane Medical Center, Harriman.

    Born May 3, 1935, in Covington, Ky., he was raised in the Eureka community of Rockwood. He was a resident of Hendersonville for about 45 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a retired market representative of Sam’s Club, Nashville, and was retired from Walmart, Rockwood.

    Nellie King Melton

    Nellie King Melton, 91, of Rockwood, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, in Roane Medical Center, Harriman.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Melton; a son, Bill Don Melton; and two daughters, Dee Gorth and Brenda Moyer.

    Survivors include a daughter, Sue Ooten, Rockwood; and a son, Jack Melton, Rockwood.

    Burial was at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 24, at Roane Memorial Gardens, Rockwood. Kyker Funeral Home, Harriman, was in charge of arrangements.

    Byron G. Day

    Byron G. Day, 58, of Gatlinburg, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010.

    He grew up in Rockwood and was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran.

    He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Day.

    Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Day; a son, Will Day; three stepchildren, Jessi, Emily and Justin; a beloved dog, Eli Blue; his father, Richard Day; a brother and sister-in-law, Tracy and Debbie Day; two nephews, Graham and Tyler Day; a great-nephew, Andrew Day; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and cherished friends.
