    Vickie E. Mullins Duncan

    Vickie E. Mullins Duncan, 48, of the Boswell Chapel community in Morgan County, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, in Roane Medical Center, Harriman, after a brief illness.

    She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, aunt and sister.

    She was preceded in death by father, Fred Mullins; and brother, Bill Mullins.

    Carl Winston Ferguson

    Carl Winston Ferguson, 66, of Louisville, formerly of Roane County, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at his home. 

    Born Dec. 1, 1942, in Roane County, he was the son of Frank Ferguson and Lennie Poland Ferguson Plemons, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, Midtown, and was a retired Clayton Homes service manager. 

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by stepfather, Dave Plemons; brother, Eugene Ferguson; and infant brother, Samuel Ferguson.

    Claude Junior Fox, 81, of Rockwood, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, in The Bridge at Rockwood.

    Born June 8, 1928, in Rockwood, he was the son of Arthur Thomas and Mary Pass Fox, both of whom preceded him in death. A Shriner, he was a member of Rockwood Church of Christ, Rockwood Masonic Lodge 403 F&AM, and Scottish Rite. He was a retired Y-12 Plant material clerk with U.S. Department of Energy, Oak Ridge, with 37 years of service and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean conflict.

    Danny Wayne Mayton

    Danny Wayne Mayton, 41, of Rockwood, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at his home.

    He was born Nov. 6, 1968, in Harriman.

    He was preceded in death by father, Lawrence Maynard “Red” Mayton Jr.; grandmother, Dorothy Capps; uncle, Eddie Newcomb; and brother-in-law, Jimmy Tilley.

    Edward L. ‘Ed’ McNelley

    Edward L. “Ed” McNelley, 54, of Rockwood, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, in Harriman.

    Born Nov. 12, 1954, in Rockwood, he was the son of Virgil William Sr. and Ruby Della Lair McNelley, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a retired Richards Industries custodian.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nieces, Aaren Devaney and Danielle McNelley.

    J. Maxine Newton

    J. Maxine Newton, 88, of Howell, Mich., formerly of Chelsea, Mich., died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009.

    Born Nov. 29, 1920, in Kokomo, Ind., she was the daughter of Alvin L. and Lena Lovejoy Price, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a 1939 graduate of Central High School, Washington, D.C. She attended Columbia Technical Institute, Washington, on a scholarship as a fashion design and illustration major. She was a member of the Omega Phi Sorority. She worked for the Army Map Service during World War II.

    Willie Ted ‘Teddy’ Wright

    Willie Ted “Teddy” Wright, 68, of Oliver Springs, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at his home.

    Born Oct. 21, 1941, in Devonia, he continued to live in the New River community until moving to Oliver Springs in 1971. A retired coal miner, he was a 32nd Master Mason and a member and past master of the Omega Masonic Lodge 536 F&AM, Oliver Springs. He enjoyed attending Mason activities. A devout Christian and an active member of Beech Park Baptist Church, Oak Ridge, he enjoyed fishing.

    Albert Clarence “A.C.” Butler, 84, of Oliver Springs, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, in Harriman Care and Rehabilitation Center, where he had been a resident since 2006.

    Deliata Lynn Brown, 39, of Harriman, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at her home.

    Born Nov. 5, 1969, in Harriman, she was a lifelong area resident. She was a clerk at Oliver Springs Dollar General Store.

    She was preceded in death by father, Lowell Sid Kennedy; and grandparents, Floyd and Carrie Vann and Fannie Kennedy.

    Charlene Juanita Curry

    Charlene Juanita Curry, 61, of Oliver Springs, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge. 

    Born March 18, 1948, in Shreveport, La., she had lived in Oliver Springs for the past nine years and was manager of Oak Ridge Arby’s.

    She was preceded in death by parents, Elbert Clark Martin and Phyllis Blalock Martin; son, Brian Rowe; brother, Jim Martin; and sister, Diane Martin.
