    Helen I. Smith Johnston, 96, of Kingston, died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009.

    She was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Kingston.

    She was preceded in death by parents, Edgar “Walton” Smith and Verna Hedgecock Smith; her husband, Herman Johnston; infant son, Bobby Johnston; and daughter, Mildred Johnston Hall.

  • Myrtle Frances Robbins

    Myrtle Frances Robbins, 89, of Harriman, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, in Harriman Care and Rehabilitation Center.

    A member of South Harriman Baptist Church, she had been a Sunday school teacher at Valley Chapel Methodist Church for several years. She worked at Harriman City Hospital for a number of years and was loved by all who knew her.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Reece Robbins; daughter, Marion Bartlett; son, Reece Everett Robbins; brothers, Clarence Jones, Luke Jones and Howard Jones, sister, Lovie Phillips; and sister-in-law, Rosella Jones.

    Christopher Caulder

    Christopher Brian Caulder, 43, of Harriman, formerly of Anson County, N.C. died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009 at his home.

    He was born June 15, 1966 in Wadesboro, N.C. He was the son of Shirley Honeycutt Caulder Harward and the late Boyce Legrand Caulder. He was a graduate of Anson High School and had a great career in the electrical supply business, having been employed at the time of his death with City Electric Supply in Tennessee.

    Ronald 'Tommy' Brummitt

    Ronald 'Tommy' Brummitt, 63, of Rockwood, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 in Renaissance Terrace in Harriman.

    He was born Dec. 22, 1945 in Kingston.

    He was preceded by his parents, Oscar and Molly Moore Brummitt; son, Chris Gardner; sisters, Clara Gardner, Edna Green; and nephew, Kerry Gardner.

    Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and James Simpson of Rockwood; brothers, Perry Ray Brummitt of Nashville and Tony Brummitt of Knoxville.

    Ed Collier

    Ed Collier, 70, of Kingston, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009 at his home.

    He enjoyed the outdoors and retired from TWRA where he worked as a wildlife agent.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Ambrose and Julia Collier; sisters, Helen and Jo Ann Collier; and brother, Jim Collier.

    Survivors include brothers and sisters and spouses, J.P. and Ethel Collier of Kingston, Ken and Brenda Collier of Rogersville, Linda Galyon of Ten Mile, Elmer and Betty Collier of Loudon, Delmer Collier of Kingston; several nieces, nephews and friends.

    Kenneth Davis

    Kenneth Lee Davis, 83, of Deer Lodge, died Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, after a brief illness. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Wartburg.  A WWII Navy Veteran having served on the LST 451 in the Pacific, he and his wife owned and operated a Farm and Home store in the Deer Lodge community for over 40 years. Once retired, he loved fishing and attending high school basketball games.

    Flora McElhaney

    Flora E. Sitzlar McElhaney, 82, of Ten Mile, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009 at Rhea Medical Center in Dayton.

    A native of Laurel Bluff and longtime resident of Roane County, she was a daughter of the late William and Lula Mae Adcock Sitzlar. She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Ten Mile.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
