    She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Kingston.

    She was preceded in death by parents, Murray and Fannie Wilson; brothers, Claude Wilson and Horace Wilson; and sisters, Elizabeth Kessler, Betty Merrell and Roxie Wilson.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Freitag.

    Survivors include sons, Ted West of Detroit, Don West of Las Vegas and Robert Freitag Jr. of Nogales; daughters, Wanda Vaught and Audrey Ashcroft, both of Tucson; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Ester Bacon of Kingston.

    Katie Crouch, 81, of Knoxville, died Tuesday, April 8, 2008, in Park West Medical Center, Knoxville.

    Born Dec. 22, 1926, in Knoxville, she was a lifelong resident of Knoxville and a member of Dante Church of God, Knoxville.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Crouch; daughter; Patricia Crouch; parents, Ernest Elmer Parker and Lucy Mae Woods Parker; sisters, Mildred Woods and Jackie Payne; and brother, Fritz Parker.

    John William Bandy

    John William Bandy, 80, of Kingston, died Monday, April 7, 2008 in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.

    A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was of the Baptist faith and was an avid fisherman.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Bandy, in June 2003; parents, Robert and Blanche Ward Bandy; and a sister.

    Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Peggy Bandy of Maryville.

    Joseph Kenneth 'Tom' Ruppe

    Joseph Kenneth “Tom” Ruppe, 91, of Rockwood, died Monday, April 7, 2008, in Rockwood Care and Rehabilitation Center.

    A member of Rockwood First Baptist Church, he was retired from the city of Rockwood Street Department.

    He was preceded in death by parents, John and Vada Ruppe; brother, William Quentin Ruppe; and sister, Louise Miles.

    Survivors include his wife, Cora S. Ruppe of Rockwood; sisters, Emma Nelson of Rockwood and Hazel Faye Hagedorn of Elsmere, Ky.; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

    Irene Bunch Butler, 54, of Wartburg, died Saturday, April 5, 2008, in Huntsville Manor Health Care Center, Huntsville.

    Born April 16, 1953, in Harriman, she spent most of her life in Anderson, Scott and Morgan counties and had lived in Rockford, Ill., for nine years. A loving mother and grandmother, she was a member of East Robbins Baptist Church, Robbins.

    Edgar “Bud” Halburnt, 84, of Blackville, S.C., formerly of Oliver Springs died Friday, April 4, 2008.

    Born Jan. 2, 1924, in the lower camp of Windrock Mountain, he remained in Oliver Springs until early adulthood, when he moved to Cleveland, Ohio. He lived in Ohio until 2004. A faithful Christian, he attended Christian Faith Baptist Church, Blackville.

    Born May 4, 1926, in McCreary County, Ky., she lived in New River and Petros during her early childhood. She and her family lived in the Orchard View Community of Roane County for many years. A homemaker and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was a member of Orchard View Baptist Church.
