    Cloa Ellen Garrison, 72, of Kingston, died Thursday, March 27, 2008, in Roane Medical Center, Harriman.

    She was a member of Luminary United Methodist Church, Ten Mile.

    She was preceded in death by infant son, Marvin Copeland; parents, Joe W. Sr. and Margaret “Sis” Crabtree; brother, Joe W. “Red” Crabtree Jr.; sisters, Arvenia Parks, Eunice Ray and Toni Hale; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Grover and Mae Garrison.

    Mildred Montgomery Harrison

    Mildred Montgomery Harrison, 84, of Clinton, died March 26, 2008, in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.

    Born Nov. 16, 1923, in Oliver Springs, she was the daughter of John and Clara Hoard Montgomery, both of whom preceded her in death. She lived in Oliver Springs until 1978. She was a former member of Little Leaf Baptist Church, Oliver Springs, and a faithful member of Mount Sanai Baptist Church, Clinton, until declining health.

    Ricky Wendell Oakes

    Ricky Wendell Oakes, 47, of Adairsville, Ga., formerly of Rockwood, died Monday, March 24, 2008, in Cartersville, Ga.

    Born July 18, 1960, in Rockwood, he was a truck driver for MarChem Southeast, Adairsville, and a member of Mount Vernal Baptist Church, Rockwood. He used to race motorcycles with Motocross. He loved the outdoors and making people laugh and was kind, gentle and loving.

    He was preceded in death by grandmother, Hazel Oakes; and grandparents, Frank and Estelle Miles.

    Robert ‘Bobby Joe’ Jones

    Robert “Bobby Joe” Jones, 69, of Lancing, died Monday, March 24, 2008, at his home.

    Born April 12, 1938, in Leslie County, Ky., he was a kind, generous and loving man with a great sense of humor. He was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.

    He was preceded in death by father, Jackson Jones; and brother-in-law, Henry Allen Jr.

    Born Feb. 28, 1972, in Puerto Rico, she moved to Coalfield in early childhood and lived there until graduating from high school in 1990. She was a licensed practical nurse.

    Verna Marie Brewer

    Verna Marie Brewer, 91, of Kingston, died Friday, March 21, 2008, in Harriman Care and Rehabilitation Center.

    A loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed cooking, especially for her family.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, B.A. Brewer; daughters, Sue Taylor and Elizabeth Woody; sons, Tommy Brewer and David Brewer; and granddaughter Rebecca Campbell.

    Survivors include son, Charles Brewer Jr., of Lenoir City; daughter, Lyndia Neal of Harriman; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

    Gerald D. Oakes, 76, of Harriman, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008, in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.

    A native of Malone, N.Y., he was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Harriman, and a retired U.S. Army veteran who served in Korea. He retired from the Alcoa Aluminum Co. in Messena, N.Y.

    He was preceded in death by daughter Merry Deon; parents, Adlophus and Mildred Oakes; and sisters, Beatrice and Eunice.

    Ralph M. Crowe

    Ralph M. Crowe, 80, of the Dyllis community in Roane County, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008, in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.

    Born Sept. 6, 1927, in Anderson County, he was a lifelong resident of the area. Before his retirement, he was a self-employed truck driver for more than 30 years. He was a member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church.

    He was preceded in death by parents, B.F. and Virgie E. Jett Crowe; and son, Ralph Wayne Crowe.
