Leroy ‘Sonny’ Brock

Leroy “Sonny” Brock, 67, of Crossville, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, in Cumberland Medical Center, Crossville.

He was preceded in death by mother, Anna Maria Davis.

Survivors include his wife and partner of 32 years, Joyce Ann Brock; sons, Allen Brock, Terry Brock and Timothy Brock; daughter and son-in-law: Pamela and Mark Burke; stepsons, John Dodge and Robert Dodge; stepdaughters, Susanne White and Beverly Dodge; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Susie Stevens Bartlett

Susie Stevens Bartlett, 63, of Harriman, died Friday Feb. 15, 2008, in Roane Medical Center, Harriman.

Born July 26, 1944, in Andersonville, she was a lifetime resident of Roane County. A member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church and a loving mother, grandmother and aunt, she worked for Roane Hosiery and Rockwood Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was preceded in death by parents, Vernon and Vera Clark; brother, Vernon Putt Clark; and Clyde and Belle Stevens, who raised her.

Jesse Samuel ‘Sambo’ Howard Sr.

Jesse Samuel “Sambo” Howard Sr., 84, of Harriman, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at his home.

A member of Harriman First Christian Church, he was a K-25 Site retiree with 38 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Howard; parents, Henry and Lena Howard; son, Charles Howard; sisters, Frances Rogers, Bonnie Williams and Luvenia Buchannon; and brother, James “Jimbo” Howard.

Norma Smith Childs

Norma Smith Childs, 53, of Norris, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at St. Mary’s North, Knoxville.

Born June 26, 1954, in Oak Ridge, she lived in the Batley community of Oliver Springs until a year ago. She was a loving mother and grandmother who was a member of Batley Baptist Church. She was a teacher’s assistant for 15 years with the Oak Ridge school system.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Childs; father, Fred Smith; brother, Norman Smith Sr.; and niece, Leslie Smith.
