    Lonnie Blalock, 56, of Coalfield, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at his home.

    A devoted husband, father and a friend to all, he loved the outdoors, gardening and hunting. He was a coal miner for many years and will be missed by all who knew him.

    Boyd Edwin Kelley Jr., 78, of Rockwood, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2007 at Roane Medical Center in Harriman.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd Edwin Kelley Sr.; daughter, Evelyn Powell; brother, Lloyd Kelley; sister, Loretta Duncan; and son-in-law, Dale Henderson.

    Lola L. Lane, of Wartburg, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007. She was born December 29,1926.

    Ms. Lane was preceded in death by her parents, Wolford and Zoni (Cooper) Hall; and brothers, Hugh Haskel Hall and Wesley Hall.

  • Jessie Lee Reynolds, Red Bank

    Jessie Lee Reynolds, of Red Bank, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007 at her residence. A native of Oakdale, she had lived in Red Bank since 1952. She was a member of Open Door Baptist Church. She has been employed by Crane Company, and Sears at Northgate Mall.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Elsie Melhorn, Sr.; two brothers, Walter Melhorn, Jr. and George Melhorn; and grandson, Chris Cline.

    Elmer 'Thomas' Preston, 23, passed away suddenly Friday, Oct. 26, 2007. He was employed by Norfolk-Southern Railroad.

    He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Preston; and brother, Bobby Preston.

  • Charles Edward Taylor, 90

    Charles Edward Taylor, 90, of Kelso, Washington passed away on October 22, 2007 at the Community Home Health and Hospice. He was born to Richard and Cynthia Pearl Armes Taylor in Blue Diamond, Ky on July 3, 1917. He was raised in Petros and lived in Kelso for the last 49 years.

    Mr. Taylor served in the Army from September 1940 to 1946. He was stationed in Iceland and Germany during WWII. He crossed France with Patton and was a member of the 5th Infantry Division.

  • Emily A. McCormick, Lancing

    Emily A. McCormick of Lancing, passed away on Oct. 22, 2007. She slipped away peacefully in her sleep after a brief, but hard-fought battle against renal cancer. Emily was a faithful member of Shady Grove Church in Lancing She was born on Sept. 17, 1922 in Lancing.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Ray Melton and Armilda Katherine (Aunt Millie) Potter Melton of Lancing; three brothers, Emerson Melton of Powell, Edward Melton of Bakersfield, Ca. and Arthur Melton of Lancing.

    He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Phronie Blalock; brothers, David and Lowell Blalock; sisters, Joyce Blalock and Mildred Smith.

    Gauge Coleman, seven days old, of Wartburg, passed away Friday Oct. 12, 2007 at Roane Medical Center.

    He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Lester and Ethel Ridge, Clyde and Mae Bunch; and grandmother, Emma Coleman.

    William Howard Wright, 74, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, in St. Peters Hospice Inn, Albany, N.Y., after a courageous battle against cancer.
