    James Ronald 'Ronnie' Cobb

    James Ronald “Ronnie” Cobb, 63, of Kingston, went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 7, 2012, in University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville.

    He was of the Presbyterian faith, a graduate of Oak Ridge High School, studied electrical engineering at UT, served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier Ranger during the Vietnam War, and retired from TVA as an instrument mechanic foreman. Throughout his life, he enjoyed boating, fishing, movies, and lapidary. He was a loving, devoted father, and his family and friends will miss him greatly.

  • Naomi P. Childs

    Naomi P. Childs, 89, of Harriman, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012, in Harriman Care and Rehabilitation Center.
    Of the Baptist faith, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jess W. Childs; several brothers; and one sister.
    Survivors include a son, Roger Childs, Kingston; a daughter, Sandra Hampton (Steve), Harriman; three grandchildren, Natalie Beason (Roger), Karen Childs and Buffy Bussell (John); six great-grandchildren, Eric, Tristan and Alexis, Amanda, Stephanie and Matthew; and a sister, Margaret Kelly, Oakdale.

  • Magalene 'Maggie' Carroll

    Magalene “Maggie” Carroll, 63, of Oliver Springs, died Friday, April 6, 2012, at Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Roxie Seiber Carroll.
    Survivors include a son, Daniel Benbenek, Oak Ridge.
    Funeral service was at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, in Sharp Funeral Home chapel, Oliver Springs, with Pastor Thomas Vananda officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

  • Mildred L. Bush

    Mildred L. Bush, 83, of Spring City, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at home.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Scott and Bessie Cottrell Lane.

    Survivors include a son, Greg Shirks, Rockwood.

    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 4, in Evans Mortuary, Rockwood. Funeral service will follow in the chapel, with Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at Glen Alice Cemetery, Rockwood.

  • Ruth Ann May

    Ruth Ann May, 69, of Harriman, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012, in The Bridge at Rockwood.

    She was born Aug. 7, 1942, in Harriman, where she continued to live. She moved to Lebanon and lived there for 16 years before her move back to Harriman in 2006.

    She was an activity coordinator in the health care center profession for 35 years before her retirement. She attended Big Emory Baptist Church.

  • Reba L. Rigsbee

    Reba L. Rigsbee, 91, of Peachtree City, Ga., formerly of Oliver Springs, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at the home of her daughter.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Rigsbee; a stepson, Shirley Wayne Rigsbee; and her parents, Robert Lee and Minnie Lee Matheson Ledford.

    Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Bruneau, Oliver Springs, Janice Hughes, Cleveland, and Jennifer Vogel, Peachtree City; two stepdaughters, Peggy Good, Blairsville, Ga, and Dorothy Hunsucker, Robbins, N.C.; and a stepson, Bobby Rigsbee, Pittsborough, N.C.

  • Robert Dennis Storey

    Robert Dennis Storey, 40, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012.

    Survivors include a son, Tanner Storey; a daughter, Alexandria Storey; his mother, Helen Summers Storey; and his father and stepmother, Ronald and Shelba Storey.

    Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 5, in Evans Mortuary chapel, Rockwood, with the Rev. Mike Higgins, officiating.  Burial was at Roane Memorial Gardens, Rockwood.

  • Barbara Ann Teffer

    Barbara Ann Teffer, 66, died Sunday, April 1, 2012, in Hospice Care Center of East Brainerd in Chattanooga.

    A longtime resident of Harriman, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Ethel Swafford Teffer.

    She was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Hackler, Helen Teffer and Imogene Teffer; and a brother, Don Teffer.

    She is survived by a sister, Betty Jo Quarles, Knoxville, and a brother,  Garry Teffer, Cabot, Ark.

  • Gerald Lynn Gamble

    Gerald Lynn Gamble, 66, of Oliver Springs, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012, in University of Alabama-Birmingham following an extended illness.

    He was born June 2, 1945, in Harriman. He lived in and grew up in Oliver Springs and graduated from Oliver Springs High School in 1963. Following his high school graduation, he entered into the U.S. Air Force and served his country during the Vietnam War. While serving, he received several medals, ribbons and citations. After his military discharge, he returned back to Oliver Springs where he had continued to live.

  • Sarah Joyce Cherry Wilson

    Sarah Joyce Cherry Wilson, 77, of Kingston, passed away Friday, March 30, 2012, at her home.

    She was born Jan. 19, 1935, in Troy, Tenn., to Watson Aubrey Cherry and Martha Wiley Cherry. She was a member of Young’s Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Lawnville Road. She spent more than 20 years in the Air Force with her husband and moved to Kingston in 1974.
