  • A THEME THAT’S TRULY MAGIC

    “Magic” is the theme of the 2013 Gala, a major annual fundraising event for The Roane Alliance.
    The Gala will be on Nov. 1.
    “The Roane Alliance Gala is always kind of a magical event,” said Roane Alliance President/CEO Leslie Henderson. “So it just made sense to embrace that as our theme this year.”
    Money raised from the event goes toward funding the many programs The Alliance administers throughout the year to ensure quality growth for Roane County.

  • Unemployment insurance now payable online

    Employers can now pay their unemployment insurance premiums online through ACH bank debit.

    This convenience eliminates the need for paper checks or the necessity for making special arrangements with your bank to pay by ACH credit.

     Employers who use the Tennessee Premium and Wage Reporting System (TNPAWS) already have online access to their unemployment insurance account and now have the option to pay their premiums online.

  • Proton Power brings energy efforts to Rockwood

    Proton Power has its sights on the future of energy, and its continued success has it expanding into a Rockwood facility for its liquid fuel projects.

    The company, focused on using hydrogen for energy, doesn’t just look at their endeavors as environmentally friendly but economically sound as well.

    “It is energy efficient, environmentally attractive and economical. It has to be all of these to be good in the long term,” said co-founder Dr. Sam C. Weaver.

  • Tennessee recognized for lowest state debt

    Fitch Ratings, one of the country’s top bond agencies, has officially named Tennessee the lowest debt state in the nation.

     The news, which was officially released by Fitch earlier this week, is based on an analysis of total debt ratios in all 50 states. The calculation is measured by combining each state’s total debt and unfunded liabilities and measuring them against the state’s average individual income level.

  • Enrichment Credit Union’s Dog Days of Summer helps support area pet charities

    Enrichment Federal Credit Union recently raised $10,000 to be split between 12 area animal shelters in its service area.
    During Enrichment’s fifth annual Dog Days of Summer Pet Supply Drive, monetary contributions and supplies such as dog and cat food, towels, blanket, pet beds and other pet-related items were donated.

    Amber Wyrick is the new branch manager of Y-12 Federal Credit Union’s Roane County Branch at 1715 Roane State Hwy., Midtown.
    Wyrick has worked at the Roane County Branch for more than 12 years.
    She started as a teller and also held the positions of head teller and assistant branch manager before being promoted to branch manager.

    “What I love about working at Y-12 Federal Credit Union is that no matter how much the credit union grows, we still have that small town feeling,” Wyrick said.
