Lori Treadway was recently honored for her 25 years of service at Griffin Insurance Agency.
She started with the agency in 1986 and has held the designation of certified insurance service representative for the pas 20 years.
Treadway also has served as personal lines manager for the agency at 414 N. Kentucky St., Kingston.  
She is still active in her career and continues with her education to better serve her clients.
Treadway and her husband, David, plan to re-tire someday to Myrtle Beach, where they own property.

The Internal Revenue Service plans a Feb. 14 start date for processing tax returns delayed by last month’s tax law changes.

The IRS reminds taxpayers affected by the delay they can begin preparing their tax returns immediately because many software providers are ready now to accept these returns.

Beginning Feb. 14, the IRS will start processing both paper and e-filed returns claiming itemized deductions on Schedule A, the higher education tuition and fees deduction on Form 8917 and the educator expenses deduction.

Effective Jan. 18, the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development will begin offering unemployed workers Visa debit cards and direct deposit for receiving their unemployment benefits.

The options will be offered to newly unemployed workers as they apply for unemployment benefits.  

Claimants currently receiving benefits can also enroll for debit cards or direct deposit payments online at https://ui.tn.gov. In the future, all claimants will receive their unemployment benefits electronically.

Food City and the University of Tennessee Medical Center have formed a partnership to expand the educational and informational Healthy Living Kitchen program to reach communities throughout the area.

Consisting of a registered dietitian, cardiac nurse specialist and senior executive chef from UT Medical Center, the Healthy Living Kitchen team presents healthy cooking classes and provides information on nutrition, label reading and making the right choices while grocery shopping.
