AT&T has completed a key initiative in its ongoing efforts to expand the wireless capacity and performance of its 3G mobile broadband network throughout the Roane County area.

As part of its continuing network investment to support growing demand for advanced mobile devices and applications, AT&T has activated 18 existing cell sites with 3G cell technology in Roane County.

The Appalachian Regional Commission has formed a new partnership with TVA and the National Business Incubation Association to develop a Peer-to-Peer Benchmarking Review program to help business incubators more effectively nurture small, emerging enterprises.  

There are an estimated 150 business incubators serving 4,500 emerging firms in the ARC and TVA regions.

Life in the 1940s at Y-12 — there are those who worked there during the war years, but there are many more who didn’t and want to know what it was like then.

Now, they can do that by checking out the recently updated Y-12 History website and reading actual Y‑12 Bulletins from the 1940s.

Coordinated by Jennifer Dixon, B&W Y-12’s National Historic Preservation Act coordinator, and Y-12 historian Ray Smith, this project creates online scanned copies of bulletins chronicling Y‑12 history.
