Roane County Chamber of Commerce’s Super Saturday on Nov. 24 will tie into a nationally promoted “Shop Small” campaign that promotes the support of small businesses.

Chamber President Leslie Henderson calls Super Saturday “a special day for everyone to spend at least $50 at a Chamber member’s business.”

She said, “If everyone did this, we could have a huge effect on our local economy and really help our community.”

BenchMark Physical Therapy is opening a new clinic at 2497 S. Roane St., Suite 220, Harriman.
Director Hemal Patel said it’s his goal to offer access to advanced skills in physical therapy.

Patel has a doctorate of physical therapy and is residency trained in orthopedics.

“Residency is about developing a sound and up-to-date knowledge base and then applying it to patient care,” said David Harris, regional director.

Employers planning to claim an expanded tax credit for hiring certain veterans should act soon, according to the IRS.

Many businesses may qualify to receive thousands of dollars through the Work Opportunity Tax Credit, but only if the veteran begins work before the new year.
