‘WE HAVE TO MAKE CUTS’

After seeing their request for additional local funding go nowhere the last two years, Roane County school officials are considering other options to deal with their financial crisis.

“We’re looking at $3.5 million — possibly more — of cuts,” business manager Eric Harbin said.

Harbin and Director of Schools Gary Aytes met with the Roane County Commission’s budget committee on Thursday.
