  • Meet this year’s RSCC honorees from Roane County
  • Sign up now for Summer Jobs+

    Roane State Community College is participating in the Obama Administration’s Summer Jobs+ program.

    The White House describes the program as a “call to action for businesses, nonprofits and government to work together to provide pathways to employment for low-income and disconnected youth in the summer of 2012.”

    As part of the program, Roane State will provide life skills and work skills courses, at no cost, to 50 people age 16-24.

  • Lipscomb University provost's list: fall 2011

    Anna Uselton of Kingston has been honored at Lipscomb University, Nashville, for academic achievement during fall semester.

    Uselton, a Roane County High School graduate and English major, earned placement on the university’s provost’s list.

    Only students who earn a 4.0 grade-point average while attempting at least 12 credit hours are named to the provost’s list.

  • Bryan College graduates: Spring 2012

    Six Bryan College students from Roane County were amonbg the 217 graduates who received their degrees during the college’s recent 84th commencement service.

    Keith Bauer, son of Charles Bauer of Kingston, received a bachelor’s degree in history, with secondary education licensure.

    Matthew Green, son of Donald and Dana Green of Kingston, received a bachelor’s degree with honors in Christian ministry: leadership.

  • Rueff serves as senate page

    Elizabeth Audrey Rueff recently served as a page in the state Senate for the 107th Tennessee General Assembly.

    Rueff, a fifth-grader at Bowers Elementary School, Harriman, was invited by state Sen. Ken Yager, R-Harriman.

    She was accompanied to the Capitol by her mother and stepfather, Annabelle and James Fielden.

    Yager issued an invitation earlier this year for area students to experience the legislature in action as a page in the state Senate.

  • Midway students of month honored

    Midway Elementary School Principal Keevin Woody recently honored the school's January and February students of the month.

  • Still time to test for nursing program

    Tennessee Technology Center at Crossville still has openings for the last entrance test being given for the day practical nursing program on May 22.

    A $15 fee is payable at the time of registration.

    The computerized test measures math and reading skills.

    Applicants should call the center at 931-484-7502, Ext. 125, to register for the test.
