  • THP to conduct license checks in Roane Co.

    The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting driver license roadside safety checkpoints in Roane County during November.

    The first checkpoint will be the week of Nov. 6 at Hwy. 70 and Poland Hollow Road. The checkpoint will be from 10 to 11 a.m.

    On the week of Nov. 13, the THP will have a checkpoint at Pansy Hill Road near Swan Pond Road. The time for that checkpoint will be from 11 p.m. to midnight.

  • New facet for Meth Destroys campaign

    Gov. Bill Haslam recently joined District Attorney Russell Johnson, fellow Tennessee district attorneys and members of their staffs in Nashville at an annual training conference to kick off a statewide meth awareness campaign.

    Haslam unveiled an educational DVD that has been distributed to public middle and high schools across the state through an ongoing partnership between the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference and the Tennessee Department of Education.
