  • THP to conduct August license checks in Roane Co.

    The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting three driver license roadside safety checkpoints in Roane County during August.

    The first checkpoint will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Aug. 3 on Hwy. 27 at the Morgan County line.

    Another checkpoint is planned from 7 to 8 p.m. Aug. 10 on Pine Ridge Road near the railroad tracks.

    The final checkpoint, on Hwy. 382 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will be from 8 to 9 p.m. Aug. 17.

  • THP to conduct sobriety check in Roane County

    The Tennessee Highway Patrol will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Roane County on July 20 on Hwy. 27 at the Morgan County line.

    The checkpoint will take place from 10 to 11 p.m.

    Recognizing the danger presented to the public by intoxicated drivers, troopers will concentrate their efforts on vehicles being operated by intoxicated drivers.

    The Tennessee Highway Patrol has found these sobriety checkpoints to be an effective means of enforcing DUI laws of Tennessee while ensuring the protection of all motorists.

  • THP to conduct July license checks in Roane Co.

    The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting two driver license roadside safety checkpoints in Roane County during July.

    The first checkpoint will be from 8 to 9 p.m. July 4 on Hwy. 27 at Poland Hollow Road.

    Another checkpoint is planned from 7 to 8 p.m. July 13 on Pansy Hill Road near Swan Pond Road.

    Recognizing the danger presented to the public by unqualified drivers, troopers will concentrate their efforts on vehicles being operated by drivers who would violate the driver license laws of `Tennessee.
