  • THP to conduct license checks in Roane Co.

    The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting driver license roadside safety checkpoints this month in Roane County.

    The first checkpoint will be from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. March 9 on Pansy Hill Road near Swan Pond Road.

    Another checkpoint is planned from 10 to 11 a.m. March 16 on Hwy. 58 at the new Tennessee River bridge.

    Recognizing the danger presented to the public by unqualified drivers, troopers will concentrate their efforts on vehicles being operated by drivers who would violate the driver license laws of Tennessee.

  • THP to conduct sobriety check in Roane County

    The Tennessee Highway Patrol will conduct a sobriety checkpoint today, March 2, at Poland Hollow Road in Roane County.

    The checkpoints will take place from 10 p.m. to midnight.

    Recognizing the danger presented to the public by intoxicated drivers, troopers will concentrate their efforts on vehicles being operated by intoxicated drivers.

    The Tennessee Highway Patrol has found these sobriety checkpoints to be an effective means of enforcing DUI laws of Tennessee while ensuring the protection of all motorists.

    The first checkpoint will be from 9 to 10 p.m. today, Feb. 3, on Hwy. 27 North at the Morgan County line.

    Another checkpoint will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Feb. 24 on Hwy. 27 South at the Rhea County line.

    Recognizing the danger presented to the public by unqualified drivers, troopers will concentrate their efforts on vehicles being operated by drivers who would violate the driver license laws of Tennessee.
