Authorities have confirmed the identities of the 10 people injured Tuesday afternoon when a van crashed into Classic Styles salon on Kentucky Street in Kingston.

Richard L. Ward of Kingston was the driver of the van, said Kingston Police Lt. Gary Nelson. Ward was taken via helicopter to University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, and Nelson said Tuesday night he was in critical condition.

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge Office is the recipient of the national chapter of Federally Employed Women’s Federal Department/Agency Award.

The award, one of FEW’s most prestigious annual honors, was presented to Oak Ridge Office Manager Gerald Boyd at the chapter’s 41st national training program in New Orleans. About 2,500 members from across the nation participated in the training.

“It is a pleasure to accept this award on behalf of the Oak Ridge Office,” Boyd said.

Roane State Community College’s Tennessee Small Business Development Center and the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce will offer a free workshop for small business owners and entrepreneurs who want a better understanding of starting a new business.
The workshop will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 26 in the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce offices at 1400 Oak Ridge Turnpike.
