  • Rockwood holds off OSMS, 30-26

    “Boomsday” had nothing on the offensive fireworks displayed in the barn burner between the Oliver Springs Middle School Bobcats and the Rockwood Tigers as both teams combined for 585 offensive yards in Rockwood’s 30-26 victory Thursday night. 

  • Raiders Baseball Showcase set for Oct. 8-9

    The Roane State Community College baseball team will be holding a showcase for high school players on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 11 a.m. and Sunday, Oct. 9 at 1 p.m.

    Participants will have the opportunity to be seen by college and pro scouts in a pro style workout.

  • Out to Lunch: Riverwalk has so much, you’ll have to go back

    For this “Out to Lunch” adventure, I revisited a Loudon location I wrote about a year and a half ago.
    Then operated as Stonewall’s BBQ, the new restaurant at Carmichael Inn is now called Riverwalk Grille, with new cooks and a different food menu.


    I began making plans for a business lunch at Carmichael Inn when Bo Carey, my friend and furniture business associate, told me about the change of food served at Riverwalk Grill.
