    July 19 — Tara Nicole Daughtery, 30, 381 Back Petros Road, Kingston: aggravated assault. Bond $15,000; court date Aug. 19.

  • Raiderettes split on Georgia trip


    The Roane State Raiderettes spent Thanksgiving weekend in Georgia, playing games on Friday and Saturday.

    Friday was a good day as Roane State beat Georgia Perimeter, 65-58, but Saturday didn’t turn out as well as Georgia Highlands beat the Raiderettes, 73-64.

  • Harriman Middle splits with Greenback


    The Harriman Middle School Blue Devils and Lady Devils made the trip to Greenback Monday night and the result would be splitting a pair of games with the Cherokees.

    Greenback opened the evening with a 34-26 victory in the girls game and that was followed by the Blue Devils taking the final game of the evening, 48-37.

    Those were hard lessons to learn for the Oliver Springs Lady Bobcats as they took a 55-43 setback to the Meigs County Lady Tigers on “Black Friday” at the 2013 Oliver Springs Thanksgiving Classic.

  • Griffith pumps in 42 in OT loss


    Oliver Springs’ Emily Griffith put on a show Saturday night, scoring 42 points, pulling down 11 rebounds, coming away with five steals and dishing out four assists, but unfortunately for Lady Bobcat fans, it wasn’t enough to secure a victory as Stone Memorial picked up a 68-65 overtime victory in the final game of the 2013 Oliver Springs Thanksgiving Classic.

  • Waves suffer Black Friday on hardwood


    Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful, but the Midway Green Wave and Lady Waves didn’t have much to be thankful for on the day following the holiday as Tellico Plains swept a pair of District 3-A contests at Midway.

  • Bobcats knock off Berean Christian, 62-49


    One day after suffering a tough 57-56 loss at the hands of Meigs County, the Oliver Springs bounced back Saturday afternoon with a 62-49 victory over Berean Christian in the final day of play of the 2013 Oliver Springs Thanksgiving Classic.

  • Roane hiring veteran service officer

    Veterans and their families will soon have a county official dedicated to helping them with their benefits and other concerns.

    Roane County is planning to hire a veterans service officer early next year which will be located on the third floor of the Roane County Courthouse.
