The Midway Green Waves came within an out of upsetting one of the district leaders Wednesday afternoon at Midway as Harriman scored six runs with two outs in the top seventh inning to get a 7-2 win and remain tied with Grace Christian Academy at the top of the District 3-A standings.

Harriman improved to 5-1 in the district with the win and share the district lead with Grace who also has one loss. Midway dropped to 1-5 in the district, but are 9-6 overall.

The Harriman Lady Blue Devils improved to 13-2 overall with an 8-1 victory over Sunbright in the first game of a road doubleheader on Thursday.

Harriman never had one huge inning against the Lady Tigers, but David Currier's squad did score at least one run in all five innings of play.

Harriman's first run came in the top of the first inning as Moriah Anderson opened the game with a bunt single and she would score on a ground out from Lindsey Daugherty.

The Kingston Yellow Jackets spent most of Thursday evening playing catch-up at Oliver Springs’ Arrowhead Park, but in the end Bruce Robinette’s squad used an RBI ground out from Josh Banken with one out in the top of the seventh inning to pick up a 6-5 victory over the Bobcats.

Neither side in the double-murder trial of Rocky Houston will find resolution in their Christmas stockings.

A jury on Friday afternoon found Houston not guilty of some charges and could not agree on others.

Judge James “Buddy” Scott did not immediately declare it a mistrial as he did when jurors could not agree in the trial last summer of Rocky's brother, Leon.
