A Midtown youth with speech problems proved how far determination and care can carry a person.

Hunter King, who was diagnosed with autism as a tot, won a first-place ribbon in the 4-H communication category for fourth grade.

He had help from his aide, Sally Davis.

“He really began talking about a year ago. Up until that he used sign language. He began using sign language at the age of 3,” said his mother, Jennifer King.
