Murder-for-hire preliminary waived

Murder-for-hire defendant Laura Ann Buckingham waived her preliminary hearing on Friday, and had her case bound over to the Roane County grand jury.

In exchange, the District Attorney General’s Office turned over TBI and Roane County Sheriff’s Office reports along with audio and video files to her defense.

Buckingham, 30, is charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder.

She is accused of trying to have Bradley Sutherland of Indiana killed. Sutherland is the father of her 3-year-old son.
