Balancing our national budget is a proper goal, but it alone will not solve our economic problems.

It creates no jobs; rather, jobs disappear as state and city governments operate on less revenue and businesses downsize to remain competitive.

Another reality: an economy based primarily on consumer spending cannot survive. No jobs, no spending.
What nations have money to lend?

Nations that are doing a lot of manufacturing.

Following World War II, 50 percent of the world’s manufacturing came from the U.S.

I have before me Gerald Largen’s column from Sept. 22 concerning Israel. Largen made some comments I was hoping he could clarify.

First off, I am not Jewish, and therefore will not enter into a religious discussion with him.

Did not the Jews wander that desert for hundreds of years before there was anything resembling a Palestinian country/state?

With his approval numbers plummeting as the disastrous results of his policies become apparent to more and more people, President Obama has put out the word and his minions are dutifully carrying out the plan to demonize the Tea Party. 

On newscast after newscast, spokesmen blame those evil Tea Partiers for every problem known to mankind, in a desperate attempt to deflect attention and criticism away from the current administration. 

Being as I have never written a letter to Our Readers Write, I felt compelled to do so in relation to columnist Gerald Largen’s opinion on the Jews and Israel on Sept. 23.

I know that opinions are like noses, everybody has one.

But when he stated his ignorance of the Word of God about Israel and the Jewish people as being God’s chosen people and God Almighty establishing His name in the holy city of Jerusalem, then there is something he needs to know about God’s Word if indeed he believes the Holy Bible is the inspired word of God.
