I’m getting some age on me now, just turned 74 last month.
You know, I can remember a time as a young man when people felt safe about leaving their doors unlocked night or day. You could feel OK about leaving the keys in your car after parking; no one bothered it. If you got a whipping at school, you could feel pretty assured you were going to get a another when you got home.
There wasn’t a lot of crime; for the most part, people were God-fearing, honest, hard-working, decent, moral people.
