  • A VIEW from LICK SKILLET: Drain the swamp! Rid it of that blonde creature!

According to Tuesday’s News Sentinel’s front page, “U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn believes a law that critics say provided less scrutiny of drug companies and distributors had unintended consequences and should be “addressed immediately,” a spokesman said Monday.”

  • GOING with the FLO: Wake up, America! Forces want to destroy us

President Obama’s administration has left us vulnerable to the enemies of America.

The Muslim Brotherhood has established a united, anti-American global Islamic front, expanding its outposts and influencing America.

There is an unholy alliance between the leftists and the Islamists. The Obama administration coddled, funded and praised Islamic regimes abroad.

Some people like Donald Trump, and say nice things about him.

Some people don’t like Donald Trump, and some say things about Donald Trump that are unkind, hurtful and downright insulting. Some people say those things on social media.

And sometimes people who like Donald Trump respond to those comments.

  • Violent culture plays role in mass shooting deaths

Your recent column regarding gun violence probes two urgent issues in our country.

We need to make a greater effort to identify and treat those with mental illnesses - both to care for their needs and to keep our society safe from them.

However, a recent Wall Street Journal column by a mental health professional claims a minimal correlation between mental illness and mass shootings.

Everyone seems to have myriad reasons why each proposal can’t work. That should not, however, stop us from prioritizing our public health issue with mental illness.

His father’s family were the Caecilii and his mother the Plinii. By the Elder Pliny’s will, the Younger was adopted and was henceforth known as Gaius Plinius, hence anglicized into Pliny.

  • Why stop with Southern emblems and monuments?

We are now living in a time of what I believe the Communist Chinese called “cultural cleansing” in their country. This includes getting rid of anything that may be offensive to some.

Since we seem to be in a feeding frenzy of tearing down memorials to the dead, which is much like tearing down tombstones in cemeteries, perhaps we should expand this process beyond just Southern monuments and emblems.
