Roane County’s unemployment rate was up a bit for March, according to statistics released late last month by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
The rate, at 8.1 percent, is 0.2 percent higher than in February. The county’s jobless rate was at 7.6 percent a year ago, state records indicate.
The most recent numbers indicate that 25,210 workers in Roane County’s 27,430 labor force were employed during the month.
