Two fortunes were changed by Friday’s unexpected election recount.
Ann Goldston went from apparent loser in the race for Roane County circuit court clerk to winner.
It was vice versa for Sarah Stewart, who appeared to win the race by 197 votes when unofficial returns were totaled Thursday night.
However, an anomaly uncovered by Roane County Commissioner Randy Ellis caused election officials to investigate if votes were missing.
They discovered a mobile ballot card was left in a machine and wasn’t counted due to human error.
