    Rockwood - Midway Lady Tigerwaves soccer beat Cumberland Gap in their first district game of the season 4-1.

    Kaley Legg scored a pair of goals, Maggie Poland and Adyson Goldberg also chipped in with a goal each. Goalkeeper Jordan Penley also posted 13 saves in the win.

  • Lady Devils sweep Eagles in 3...

    The Harriman Lady Blue Devils volleyball team improved their record to 5-2 as they traveled up the mountain to take on the Lady Eagles from Oakdale Thursday evening and dominated with a 3-game sweep with scores of 25-5, 25-14 and 25-14.

  • Midway Middle clips Eagles, 40-6

    On Tuesday night the Green Waves of Midway travelled to Oakdale to take on the Eagles in Middle School football action. Midway was able to control the contest, winning 40-6. Despite the score, the Eagles were able to show bright spots in the loss.

    Oakdale received to start the ball game with the ball on their own 25 yard line. Seth Gordon got a big sack for the Green Waves to set up fourth and long for a Eagles punt. The Eagles downed the ball on their own forty yard line with Midway taking over on their own 40.

  • Rockwood overwhelms Wartburg

    The Rockwood Middle School Tigers scored 30 points in the second half on the way to a 38-0 home win against Wartburg Middle Thursday evening.

    Despite fast start thanks to a 60-yard touchdown on a punt return by Tiger speedster Jaiden Hannibal, the first half was a defensive battle.

    Both defenses stymied one another at every turn forcing quick series following the other.

  • Devils can’t hold off Coalfield...

    The Harriman Blue Devils’ home opener against the Coalfield Yellow Jackets ended with a heavy rain along with a 48-7 loss.

    Harriman has a tradition of coming down to the field before the game through the home crowd like professional wrestlers.

    Friday’s home opener was like a wrestling match with the Blue Devils as the challenger and Coalfield in possession of the heavyweight title.

  • Jackets fall flat against Austin...

    The Austin-East Roadrunners came away with a 36-6 homecoming victory against the Kingston Yellow Jackets (2-1) in Friday’s week three match-up at Austin-East.

    “It was all a mental thing,” Roadrunner quarterback Chris Hunter said. “We came out flat with the weather and everything and we just wasn’t making the plays.”

  • Tigers run roughshod over Bears

    Powered by a strong running game that featured a pair of 100-yard rushers, the Rockwood Tigers cruised to a 33-13 victory at Tellico Plains Friday night.

    Ryan McCain led the Tigers with 108 yards and 2 TDs on 16 carries while Joe Ashburn added 103 yards and a score on 15 attempts. As a team, the Tigers ended the evening with 293 yards rushing on 57 carries. All five of Rockwood’s touchdowns came on the ground.

  • Green Wave grounds Eagles

    Midway picked up its first win in regional play and improved to 2-1 Friday night with a 37-14 win against Oakdale.

    After losing to Rockwood by one point in Week 1 and snagging a 7-6 victory over Monterey last week, winning by such a large margin was a welcomed change for the banged-up Green Waves.
