    The Midway Middle School Green Wave kicked off the 2012 season last week against a new member in the Clinch Valley Conference. The Green Wave welcomed Dayton City to the conference by knocking off the Sweat Bees, 26-0.
    There have been several changes in the conference with the addition of Dayton City and Spring City to the league. Along with Midway and Dayton City, Oakdale, Norwood, and Sunbright will join them in the Class A classification.
    The top two teams in each of the three classifications will square off in mid October for the league’s championship games.

    It was white-out night for the Midway Green Wave as they opened the season against visiting Lookout Valley Friday night, and while the Green Wave did open with a better effort than last season’s opener at Lookout Valley, they still could not pull out a win as Lookout Valley left Roane County with a 24-0 victory.
