    After having their first four District 3-A contests cancelled due to weather, the Harriman Blue Devils finally played their first district contest of the season Wednesday evening, and the wait was worth it for Andy Adcox’s squad as they rolled to an 8-2 victory over Greenback at Paper Maker Field.

  • Jackets sweep Tigers in tennis

    After waiting almost two weeks to open their season, the Kingston Yellow Jacket and Lady Jacket tennis teams took on Rockwood Friday for their second match in two days.

    Kingston opened the season by sweeping Harriman on Thursday and they followed that up with a sweep against Rockwood on Friday at Roane State.

  • Tigers suffer first loss

    In starting the season with six straight victories, the Rockwood Tigers had given up seven runs combined while posting three shutouts.

    Friday evening, however, the Tigers gave up more runs than that in the seventh inning alone as Upperman downed Rockwood in a slugfest, 21-15.

    The Roane County Knights came oh so close to picking up their first-ever victory Saturday afternoon, but instead dropped a heartbreaking 7-6 decision in overtime at Signal Mountain.

  • ‘Cats down Harriman, 3-1

    For the first time since 2007, the Oliver Springs Bobcats soccer program has picked up back-to-back wins in the regular season after defeating the Harriman Blue Devils 3-1.

    "Huge game for us," an elated Bobcat head coach Jonathan Pryor said postgame. "It was great to start off with district wins Tuesday against Oneida and tonight against Harriman."

  • Jackets top Blue Devils

    The Kingston Yellow Jacket tennis teams swept the Harriman Blue Devils and Lady Thursday at Roane State.

    Kingston’s boys won 7-2 while the Lady Jackets took an 8-1 victory.

  • Tigers stay hot, blast Tellico...

    The Rockwood Tigers ran their season record to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in District 3-A Wednesday evening following an 11-1 victory over Tellico Plains.

    Wednesday’s victory was the second over the Bears in as many days as Rockwood routed the Bears on Tuesday, 20-2.

  • Lady 'Cats down Alcoa, 6-2

    A big third inning proved to be the difference Thursday night as the Oliver Springs Lady Bobcats downed Alcoa, 6-2.

    The score was tied at 0-0 heading to the bottom of the third inning, but that’s when Matt Headden’s squad put five runs on the board.

  • Tigers whip up on Meigs County,...

    After not trailing in any of their first five games, the Rockwood Tigers finally had to play from behind Thursday night in their trip to Meigs County.

    But as it turns out, falling behind only seemed to fire up the Tigers, as after falling behind 1-0 after two innings of play, Rockwood roared back and won 14-4 in five innings to improve to 6-0 on the season.
