  • Lady Waves end Rockwood’s season...

    For the third time in the last 10 days, the Midway Lady Green Waves and the Rockwood Lady Tigers met in a basketball game. The difference in this game was it was a District 3-A Tournament game with the winner moving on while the loser would see their season come to an end.

  • Kingston drops regular season...

    For a little more than three quarters last week it appeared that the Kingston Yellow Jackets might upset District 4-AA champion Stone Memorial in their own gym, but the Panthers held on and pulled away down the stretch for a 68-53 victory.

  • Bobcats stun Indians in 4-A...

    In what will likely go down as the biggest upset of the District 4-A postseason, No. 6 Oliver Springs stunned No. 3 Oneida Thursday with a 65-47 win at Oneida.

  • Go pink and get in free to Roane...

    Fans who wear pink to Roane State Community College basketball games on Feb. 16 will be admitted free to raise awareness about breast cancer.

    The Roane State women play Cleveland State at 5 p.m. in the gym on the college’s main campus. The men’s game follows at 7.

    Cancer survivors will be admitted free and recognized during halftimes. Arts in Motion dancers and Roane State music students will perform.

  • Cornellison, Nunley lead Lady...

    Kingston’s duo of Haley Cornellison and Sydney Nunley combined for 44 points and 25 rebounds Tuesday in leading the Lady Jackets to a 67-60 victory at Stone Memorial. 

    The meeting would be the first of two this week. The second took place last night (Thursday) in the opening round of the District 4-AA Tournament being played at Kingston.

  • Lady Devils close out regular...

    The Harriman Lady Blue Devils closed out the regular season recently with a pair of District 3-A contests against Tellico Plains and Berean Christian.

    Home court advantage did not apply in either game as Harriman dropped a 54-45 decision at home against Tellico Plains before traveling to Knoxville and knocking off the Lady Eagles, 58-17.

  • Devils wrap up No. 3 seed

    The Harriman Blue Devils wrapped up the No. 3 seed in the upcoming District 3-A Tournament last Friday with a 58-48 victory over Tellico Plains.

    It was a good thing they wrapped up the seed last week as Tuesday night, the Devils ended the regular season with a 72-68 loss at Berean Christian.

  • Redden to play for Roane State

    There’s an old saying in baseball that you can never have too many left-handed pitchers.

    That leaves college coaches searching far and wide for the commodity, but Roane State head coach David Lane didn’t have to look far for one as Tuesday afternoon he signed Kingston southpaw Ben Redden to a scholarship.

  • Wartburg takes two from Rockwood

    In the first outing of the season between the Wartburg Central Lady Bulldogs and the Rockwood Lady Tigers, the Lady 'Dogs took a sizeable bite out of the Lady Tigers. 

    This game was more of the same as Wartburg steam rolled to a dominating 55-30 win. 

  • HMS falls in TMSAA title game

    The Harriman Middle School boys basketball team didn’t achieve their ultimate goal of winning the East Tennessee Class AA Sectional Championship, but Allen Hickman’s squad came mighty close as they dropped a 47-29 decision Saturday afternoon in Pigeon Forge against a powerful squad from Grace Christian Academy.
