    Snow and ice postponed the match-up between Sunbright and Oliver Springs on Tuesday, but there was plenty of fire for the makeup games on Thursday.

    On a frigid Thursday night, the Midway Green Wave and Lady Waves picked up a pair of victories over visiting Oakdale.

    The Lady Waves improved to 7-11 on the season with a 41-32 win over the Lady Eagles. Oakdale won the earlier game at Oakdale by four.

  • Cherokee to host Area 4-AAA...

     

    Cherokee Middle School will be busy this week as the Jackets will be hosting the Area 4-AAA Tournament starting Monday.

  • Jackets take season series from...

     

    Kingston’s Tyler Thompson made only one shot in Friday’s game against Harriman, but it was the biggest basket of the evening as he hit a 3-pointer with 37 seconds remaining to give Kingston a 49-47 lead. Kingston went on to win by a final score of 52-47.

  • RMS reaches title game

    After crushing almost every opponent in the regular season, the Rockwood Middle School Tigers found themselves in a battle Thursday night in the Area 4-AA Tournament semifinals against Lenoir City. The Tigers actually trailed at one point in the second half before roaring back to pick up a 41-29 victory over the Panthers.

  • Blue Devils fall at Grace

     

    The Grace Christian Academy Lady Rams used 14 steals to guide them to a decisive 57-37 win over the Harriman Lady Blue Devils on a frigid Tuesday evening in East Tennessee. 

  • Bobcats split with Jellico

     After struggling to a 35-28 victory over Jellico at home in December, the Lady ’Cats made the trip to Jellico last Friday, but there would be no struggle in the rematch as Michelle Christopher’s squad rolled to a 50-31 victory.

  • Tigers pick up District 3-A sweep

     

    Rockwood’s basketball teams visited Greenback’s new gymnasium for the first time Tuesday evening and the Tigers and Lady Tigers felt right as home as they took a pair of games from the Cherokees.

    In the girls game, Rockwood started a little slow, but eventually found their groove in picking up a 39-26 victory.

  • CMS sweeps North

     

    The Cherokee Lady Yellow Jackets put together perhaps their finest half of the year last Friday in rallying to defeat North Middle School, 47-40.

    The Lady Jackets got out to a bit of a slow start as the Lady Stars led 12-8 after one period of play.
