  • Two-out rallies lead Blue Devils...

    Scoring runs with two outs will win a lot of games, and that was the case for Harriman Tuesday evening as the Blue Devils scored all of their 13 runs with two outs in winning at Greenback, 13-1.

    Tuesday’s victory allowed the Blue Devils to finish their District 3-A portion of their schedule with a 6-4 record. That mark is good for third overall.

  • Tigers top Midway to keep title...

    The Rockwood Tigers entered this week needing two wins over the Midway Green Wave to claim their share of the District 3-A regular season title.

    Jake Witter’s squad got the first of those two wins on Tuesday when they defended their home turf, 9-1.

  • Falcons spoil Senior Night for...

    It was a game of missed opportunities on Senior Night for the Oliver Springs Bobcats baseball team, as seven base-runners were left stranded for the 'Cats, leaving no joy for the Bobcat nine in a 4-0 loss to the Fulton Falcons. 

    Fulton got on the board first with a run coming home in the opening inning while leaving a man stranded on third base. 

  • Tigers claim share of 3-A title

    The Rockwood Tigers beat Midway 17-5 Wednesday. In doing so, the Tigers split the regular season title with Grace Christian in District 3-A. 

    The Tigers and Rams, sporting 8-2 district records, would have to wait till Thursday afternoon’s district meeting to see who would be the No. 1 seed for the upcoming district tournament.

  • Jackets top Green Wave in...

    The Kingston Yellow Jackets and Midway Green Wave met on the baseball diamond Friday afternoon with the Jackets picking up a 4-1 victory in the 2013 Harriman Champion Classic Tournament.

    Due to tournament rules, Friday’s game lasted only five innings with Kingston taking the lead for good with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning.

      Rain would was out day three of the Region II Challenge Tournament played at Karns and Farragut, but not before the Kingston Lady Yellow Jackets got in four games in the first two days of play.

  • Tigers knock off Bobcats, 11-5

    In what could a Region 2-A tournament preview, the Rockwood Tigers hosted the Oliver Springs Bobcats Friday night and would use seven runs in the fourth and fifth innings to knock off the Bobcats, 11-5.

    Friday’s contest was even for three innings as both teams scored three runs in the second inning.

  • Lady ‘Cats in hunt for 4-A title

    The Oliver Springs Lady Bobcats traveled to Oneida Friday evening and picked up a huge 3-2 victory over the Lady Indians.

  • Jackets sting Blue Devils in...

    The Kingston Yellow Jackets and Lady Jackets swept their tennis match against Harriman on Tuesday at Roane State.

    The girls and boys both won by a final score of 7-2.

  • Lady Waves take down Lady Bears...

    The Midway Lady Waves stayed on course for a rematch with Grace Christian after they held on for a 2-0 win over Tellico Plains on Thursday.

    Midway improved to 8-1 in District 3-A with the only loss coming against Grace last Tuesday. The rematch against Grace for a tie for the regular season championship will be played Wednesday at Midway.
