    Kayla Christopher made it official last week as the Oliver Springs two-time all-state guard honored her commitment by signing with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

    And while Christopher and her family were happy about the signing, they weren't the only ones excited as Lady Moc head coach can't wait for Christopher's arrival.

  • Kingston falls in double OT

    A season full of heartbreaking losses ended with the biggest heartbreaker of all Friday night for the Kingston Yellow Jackets as Vic King’s squad dropped a 20-14 decision at Austin-East in double overtime in the second round of the TSSAA Class AAA playoffs.

  • Midway, Kingston prepare to hit...

    A brand new season starts Friday night as the Kingston Yellow Jackets and Midway Green Waves both begin postseason play in the TSSAA playoffs.

    Midway will be on the road at Cosby in the opening round of the TSSAA Class A playoffs while Kingston will be heading to Seymour for round one of the Class AAA playoffs.

  • Cherokee battles but falls

    The Cherokee Yellow Jackets had the unenviable task of trying to stop an undefeated juggernaut of a team in the Oneida Indians Saturday in the TMSAA East Tennessee Class AA Championship game. Despite falling 24-0 to the Indians, the Jackets gave the Indians a battle the whole game.

  • Armes carries Coalfield

    COALFIELD - Sunbright will have nightmares of Shawn Armes on Halloween for years to come.

    Armes saved his best for his final game on Rochelle Field. The Coalfield senior running back rushed for a career-high 258 yards and tied the school-record with five touchdowns to lead the Jackets to a 40-18 victory over Sunbright to clinch a playoff berth on Halloween night.

  • Eagles play Harriman tough in 29...

    HARRIMAN - Oakdale played one of their best games of the season, however, Harriman played to keep their playoff hopes alive last Thursday night on Wallace-Black Field.

    The Blue Devils (5-5, 2-4 in Region 2-A) went to the air for two scores, forced four turnovers and came away with a hard-earned 29-8 win over the Eagles.

  • Midway stumples in championship...

    A fabulous playoff run for the boys from South of the River fell short of glory as the Green Waves dropped a 24-0 loss Saturday to the Grace Christian Academy Rams for the TMSAA Class A East Tennessee Championship.

    Midway opened the season with six straight losses before closing out the regular season with two straight wins and winning two playoff games.

    Grace got things going on their opening drive on the very first play with a 72-yard touchdown run from Trent Waters.

  • Robinson passes 5,000 yards in...

    A week after three Midway starters were suspended from the team, the new Green Wave line up seemed to be settling in. They at least got in enough practice time this week to be able to pull away from Wartburg to win their seventh game of the season, 33-7.

    A few minutes after the game, Midway would learn who would be their first opponent in the playoffs. Cosby’s one point lost to Grace Christian Friday night left the Eagles in second place in Region 1-A and they will host the Green Waves Friday night.
