  • MMS upsets 'Cats, 22-18

    Two battered and bruised teams limped into the final game of the regular season for Roane County's middle school teams and the Midway Middle School Green Waves would come away with a surprising 22-18 win over Oliver Springs Middle for only the second win of the year for MMS.

    Midway had lost their top back, Dillion Keller two weeks previously to a concussion while OSMS lost all-everything back Seth Morgan to a torn ACL when they played Wartburg a week earlier.

    Both teams scored to end their first possession of the game.

  • Rockwood romps 'Dogs

    ROCKWOOD - Dan Shoemaker's luck couldn't get much worse during his first season as head coach at Wartburg. The injuries continue to mount and his Bulldogs suffered a 51-0 loss at Rockwood during the Tigers' homecoming Friday night on Civitan Field.

  • Stephens steps in for Harrison

    Johnny Harrison's forced resignation last Friday morning put Scott Stephens into the position of head football coach at Sunbright High School.

    Harrison ended his 16-game stint as the head coach of the Tigers with a 6-10 record over the last two seasons.

    Stephens was notified Friday morning and accepted to fill the position on an interim basis to finish out the season.
