  • Cherokee picks up South of the...

     

    Neighborhood rivals Midway and Cherokee got together Tuesday evening at Midway, and it was a good night for the Jackets and Lady Jackets as they took a pair of games from the home team.

    The first game of the evening wasn’t that close as Cherokee used a big second half on their way to a 51-23 victory.

  • RMS picks up road sweep

     

    The Rockwood Middle School Tigers took two from the Wartburg Bulldogs on Monday night at Wartburg.

    In a game that had an abundance of runs, the Lady Tigers had the final one and defeated the Lady Bulldogs, 47-42.

     It was a night of defense and close games Friday at Harriman’s Richard D. Pickell Gymnasium as the Blue Devils hosted Oliver Springs.

    In the girls game, Harriman led for much of the evening and had to hold on late for a 39-35 victory.

  • Rockwood swept by Meigs County

     

    The Rockwood Tigers and Lady Tigers traveled to Decatur Friday night and suffered a pair of losses at the hands of Meigs County.

    The Lady Tigers fell behind early and never recovered in dropping a 43-27 decision. 

  • OSMS splits with Midway

     

    Midway’s Caitlyn Ross scored 24 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Oliver Springs Middle School Lady Bobcats used a 49-23 swing on the boards and a 22-10 advantage in team steals to decisively take down the Lady Waves by a 52-32 final margin Monday night at Oliver Springs.

    A lot of people enjoy the trip to Sevier County for shopping or sightseeing, but for the Mt. Pisgah Patriots and Lady Patriots it was a pair of wins over Christian Academy of the Smokies (CAS) on the basketball court that made Friday’s trip to Sevierville a good one.

  • Cherokee picks up two wins

     

    The Cherokee girls basketball team spent the weekend in Coalfield, playing three games on Friday and Saturday against Coalfield, Oneida and Burchfield.

    The trip was successful as a whole with Ashlee Brackett’s squad beating Coalfield and Burchfield, but losing to Oneida.

    Monday night was streak-busting night at Rockwood’s Dr. Tom W. Evans Gymnasium as a couple of long winning streaks between the Rockwood Tigers and Oakdale Eagles came to an end.
