  • Oliver Springs blasts Norwood

     

    The Oliver Springs Middle School Lady Bobcats put forth a dominant performance against the Norwood Lady Jaguars as the Lady 'Cats took a convincing 47-15 win Tuesday evening. 

    The Lady 'Cats had 15-4 first period as Ashley Armstrong and Lindsay Buck (4 points each) led the scoring in the opening period for the Lady 'Cats. 

  • Tigers take two from Kingston

     

    Defense was the name of the game at Dr. Tom W. Evans Gymnasium Tuesday night as the Rockwood Tigers swept visiting Kingston in a pair of low scoring games.

    The girls game was a contest where nothing came easy, but in the end it was the Lady Tigers defending their home court with a 38-36 victory over the Lady Jackets.

  • Midway picks up district wins...

     

    The Midway Green Waves pulled off another home sweep Tuesday night cruising to two victories over district rival Harriman.

    After a close first half, the Lady Waves used a big third quarter to pick up a 66-51 win over the Lady Blue Devils.

  • Bobcats defend home floor...

     After dropping their first District 4-A game at home against Oakdale on Dec. 10, the Oliver Springs Bobcats couldn’t afford to drop another district home game this early in the season.

    They wouldn’t as Tony Ingram’s squad downed Jellico 71-58 Tuesday evening to improve to 6-7 overall and 1-1 in district play.

  • Cherokee picks up South of the...

     

    Neighborhood rivals Midway and Cherokee got together Tuesday evening at Midway, and it was a good night for the Jackets and Lady Jackets as they took a pair of games from the home team.

    The first game of the evening wasn’t that close as Cherokee used a big second half on their way to a 51-23 victory.

  • RMS picks up road sweep

     

    The Rockwood Middle School Tigers took two from the Wartburg Bulldogs on Monday night at Wartburg.

    In a game that had an abundance of runs, the Lady Tigers had the final one and defeated the Lady Bulldogs, 47-42.

    Words are powerful.

    For instance, when you hear the words courage, heart, leader, determined, gritty and hard-working used to describe a person, there’s a pretty good bet that person is extraordinary.  

  • Bobcats, Blue Devils split close...

     It was a night of defense and close games Friday at Harriman’s Richard D. Pickell Gymnasium as the Blue Devils hosted Oliver Springs.

    In the girls game, Harriman led for much of the evening and had to hold on late for a 39-35 victory.
