    The Oliver Springs Lady Bobcats captured the 2014 Rockwood Invitational championship Saturday night with a 2-0 victory over Harriman.

    Saturday’s title game victory was a bit of revenge for the Lady ’Cats as they had dropped a 2-1 decision to the Lady Devils earlier in the tournament.

    Due to time constraints, the Kingston Lady Yellow Jackets and Rockwood Lady Tigers played just five innings Friday at the 2014 Rockwood Invitational Tournament, but they packed a lot of action into those five innings as Kingston came away with a 10-9 victory.

    Kingston started quickly, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning.

    Courtney Jones tossed a complete-game, four-hitter with one walk and 13 strikeouts Friday afternoon in leading the Oliver Springs Lady Bobcats to a 3-1 victory over Kingston in a game played at the 2014 Rockwood Invitational.

    Baseball coaches like crooked numbers and Oliver Springs head coach Tony Kegley was a happy man Friday as his Bobcats put up a lot of crooked numbers in an 11-7 victory at Tellico Plains.

    Oliver Springs’ first crooked number came in the top of the first inning as three runs crossed the plate.
