    The 2011 baseball season ended on a sour note Monday evening for the Oliver Springs Bobcats as Tony Kegley’s squad suffered an 11-0 setback at the hands of Grace Christian Academy in the opening round of the Region 2-A Tournament.

    With the Kingston Lady Jackets trailing 1-0 in a pitcher's duel in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Region 4-AA forecast called for “Mo Snow”. Morgan Snow, that is, as Snow hit a three-run home run to give the Lady Jackets a shot at a region championship with a 3-1 win over the Carter Lady Hornets Monday evening at Southwest Point.

    Five days after putting up 17 runs against Grace Christian Academy in the District 3-A championship game, the bats of the Midway Lady Green Waves stayed hot Monday evening as Midway blasted Oneida, 12-2, in the opening round of the Region 2-A Tournament at Midway.

    The Oliver Springs Bobcats gave the Wartburg Central Bulldogs all they could handle and then some, but in the end, timely hits by the Bulldogs proved to be too much to overcome as Wartburg took an 8-6 win and the District 4-A Championship Thursday evening.

    Friday the 13th turned out to be a great day for the Kingston Lady Yellow Jackets as Ronnie Ladd’s squad traveled to Alcoa and downed the Lady Tornadoes, 8-4, to win the 2011 District 4-AA Tournament championship.

    The Kingston Lady Yellow Jackets are headed to next week's Region 2-AA Tournament.

    The only question left to answer is whether they'll be on the road or at home and that will be answered Friday evening at 5:30 p.m. as Ronnie Ladd's squad travels to Alcoa with the District 4-AA Tournament championship on the line.

    The Lady Jackets forced a winner-take-all championship game with Alcoa by knocking off the Lady Tornadoes Thursday evening, 6-2.

    The Midway Lady Green Waves secured a berth in next week's Region 2-A Tournament Tuesday night by defeating Rockwood 10-5 in the third round of the District 3-A Tournament played at Midway.
