  • Blue Devils pick up district...

     

    After a season filled with near-misses for the Harriman Lady Blue Devils, the blue and white squad earned a 59-47 win over the Greenback Lady Cherokees Tuesday night. 

    The victory was big for the Lady Devils as they had dropped their first two District 3-A contests before knocking off the Lady Cherokees.

  • Midway takes broom to Jackets

    It’s always a big night south of the river when Kingston pays a visit to Midway. Tuesday night was an especially sweet one for the Green Waves when they pulled off a rare sweep against the visiting Yellow Jackets.

    It was also a fairly wild night with plenty of pushing, shoving and intense play. Each of the four teams involved picked up technical fouls in the raucous atmosphere in the completely filled Boyd Woody Gymnasium.

  • Rockwood sweeps Kingston

     The Rockwood Lady Tigers snapped a 12-game losing streak against the Kingston Lady Yellow Jackets Monday evening with a 52-43 victory at Roane County High School.

    Rockwood’s last victory over the Lady Jackets came on Jan. 15, 2007 when they won at home, 44-31.

  • Raiders stay hot with 79-77...

     After a slow start to the 2013-14 season, Randy Nesbit’s Roane State Raiders are catching fire as they have now won six of their last seven games following a 79-77 victory over Volunteer State on Saturday.

  • Midway splits with Greenback

     

    A 2-0 start has suddenly become distressing for the Midway Lady Waves as they lost their third consecutive game Friday at Greenback, 47-27. 

    The Lady Waves dropped to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in District 3-A with the loss at Greenback.

  • Raiders bag Bucks

     

    The Roane State Raiderettes tacked on a 82-58 drubbing of the Motlow State Lady Bucks Friday evening. 

  • Rockwood takes care of Harriman

     

    It might have been cold and rainy outside, but the Rockwood Tigers were quite comfortable inside Dr. Tow W. Evans Gymnasium Friday night as they picked up a pair of District 3-A wins over longtime rival Harriman.

  • No fun for Bobcats at Clarkrange

     

    The Oliver Springs Bobcats and Lady ’Cats made the trip to Fentress County Friday night, but the trip was not a good one as Clarkrange took a pair of games.

    The Lady ’Cats gave the eight-time state champion Lady Buffaloes a battle for three quarters, but Clarkrange pulled away late for a 55-41 victory.

    The Kingston Yellow Jackets and Lady Jackets combined to hit 19 three-pointers Friday night, but all those triples went for naught as William Blount swept a pair of games played in Blount County.

  • Late free throws give...

     Roane State sophomore Nicole Hassler was the heroine Saturday afternoon after burying two free throws with 4.2 seconds left to give the Raiderettes a hard fought 65-64 victory over Volunteer State.
