  • Bobcats make history with 20-10...

    The Oliver Springs Bobcats made history Friday night, as Wiley Brackett's squad became the first team in school history to advance to the TSSAA Class AA semifinals following a 20-10 victory over Oneida in the third round of the Class AA playoffs.

    A trip to the semifinals seemed nearly impossible just over a month ago, as the Bobcats stood at 4-4 on the season following a humiliating 45-19 loss at the hands of Sunbright. But since that dreary night on Oct. 14, the Bobcats are 5-0, having outscored those opponents by a combined score of 178-58.

    There wasn't a lot of drama in Harriman Monday evening as the Rockwood Middle School boys and Harriman Middle School girls picked up relatively easy wins in the first match-up of the season between the two teams.

  • Midway Middle smashes Norwood

    The Midway Middle School basketball teams traveled to Norwood Monday night and came away with a pair of easy wins.

    The Lady Waves took the floor first and put on a show with a 45-7 victory over the Lady Jaguars.

    The Tennessee Valley Athletic Association finished up the football season with a series of bowl/championship games Saturday. Rockwood and Spring City hosted the event with both places hosting six games each.

  • Ventura named SEAFWA Officer of...

    Mark Ventura, of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, has received the prestigious honor of being named as the Tennessee Southeastern Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (SEAFWA) Wildlife Officer of the Year. Ventura was presented the award during the 65rd Annual SEAFWA Conference that the TWRA hosted in Nashville.

  • Raiders split with Senators

    The Roane State Raiderettes couldn't overcome 18 Walters State steals and were impeached by the Lady Senators Saturday afternoon by a 71-38 margin. 

    Walters State used runs of 8-2 and 22-6 to take a 33-15 lead to the locker room at halftime.
