  • Rough start for Midway in 2011

    The Tellico Plains Lady Bears used 30 team steals to cruise to a 70-21 win over the Midway Lady Waves Monday night. 

  • Lady Jackets, Yellow Jackets...

    Ten 3-point baskets helped the William Blount Lady Governors take a 65-42 victory over the Kingston Lady Jackets on Thursday.
    Kingston scored the first seven points of the game, but the Lady Governors were not overwhelmed by the their opponent’s good start. They outscored Kingston 14-2 the rest of the period.
    William Blount had a solid second quarter and led 28-16 halftime.
    Things got worse for Kingston after halftime and it trailed 50-28 at the end of the third quarter.

  • Kingston falls to Dresden and...

    A 22-point deficit was too much for the Kingston Lady Jackets to overcome as they fell to the Dresden Lady Lions 53-47 at the Lenoir City Holiday Classic. Kingston had an 11-9 lead at the end of the first period, but a 21-5 Dresden run in the second quarter made the score 30-16 at half-time.
    Dresden started off the third period on an 8-0 surge, but the Lady Jackets came swarming backwith a 12-4 tilt to make the score 42-28 at the end of the third period.

  • Midway splits with Monterey

    The Midway Lady Waves started off on a roll, but following an 11-3 tilt in the second period, Midway never recovered and the Monterey Lady Wildcats wound up surfing past the Midway Lady Waves 47-35 Tuesday evening. 

  • Kingston sweeps Rockwood

    Tuesday night was a great night for the Kingston Yellow Jackets as the Lady Jackets and Jackets traveled to Rockwood and came away with a pair of impressive victories.

  • Coast Guard urges safety

    As wintertime ushers in freezing temperatures and icy waters, it also introduces an increased risk of boating fatalities in the event of an accident, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. Although many of these fatalities cannot be attributed to one specific cause of death, cold water conditions, such as hypothermia and cold water immersion, do set the stage for many dangers not as present in the warmer months. 

  • Harriman sweeps Midway

    The Harriman Blue Devils and Lady Devils closed out the pre Christmas portion of their schedule Monday evening with a pair of big wins over visiting Midway.

    The Lady Devils took the floor first and used a big second half to pick up a 54-37 victory over the Lady Waves.
