  • Lady Waves snap streak


    The Midway Middle School Lady Waves ended a 19-game losing streak with a 40-35 win over Spring City Thursday at Midway. 

    The streak dated back to the 2011-12 season when they lost the championship game in  the East Tennessee Sectional Tournament. 

  • Bobcats drop two games


    The Oliver Springs Bobcats traveled to Sevier County and played a pair of games over the weekend against Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg-Pittman. The games didn’t go as planned, however, as Pigeon Forge knocked off the Bobcats, 37-35, then Gatlinburg-Pittman downed Oliver Springs, 87-56.

  • Home court no advantage for...


    Friday night wasn’t a good night for the Harriman Blue Devils and Lady Devils, as both dropped games at home against Wartburg.

    The Lady Devils took the floor first and led in the early going, but the Lady Bulldogs would soon catch fire on their way to a 53-38 victory.

  • Coalfield splits with Bobcats



    That's about all that can be said in regards to the 50-6 win by the Oliver Springs Middle School Lady Bobcats over the Coalfield Thursday night at Coalfield. 

  • Mt. Pisgah picks up sweep


    The Mount Pisgah Christian Academy Lady Patriots extinguished the Maryville Apostolic Lady Flames by a 50-32 tally on Tuesday afternoon. 

    The Lady Patriots started the game on an 8-0 run before the Lady Flames went on a 6-0 surge of their own. Not to be outdone, the Lady Patriots went on a 7-2 tilt to close out the period with a 15-8 edge. 

  • Lady Jackets pick up close wins


    The Cherokee Lady Yellow Jackets picked up a pair of wins last week in differing fashions.

    First up was a home game against Philadelphia and Ashlee Brackett’s squad needed a fourth quarter rally and then overtime to knock off the Lady Warriors, 35-30.

  • CMS picks up two wins


    Mike Snow’s Cherokee Yellow Jackets picked up a pair of big wins last week.

    The first win came at home with a 40-26 victory over Philadelphia and that was followed by a 35-13 victory at Meigs County.

    The Oakdale Eagles basketball teams opened up the home slate with a pair of wins over the Harriman Blue Devils Thursday night at Oakdale School.

  • Playoff run ends for Green Wave


    General Robert Neyland’s No. 1 game maxim at the University of Tennessee says the team that makes the fewest mistakes will win.

    Those words rang true at Coalfield Friday night as visiting Midway turned the ball over six times in dropping a 34-0 decision at the hands of the Yellow Jackets in the quarterfinal round of the TSSAA Class 1A playoffs.
