    It might have been cold and rainy outside, but the Rockwood Tigers were quite comfortable inside Dr. Tow W. Evans Gymnasium Friday night as they picked up a pair of District 3-A wins over longtime rival Harriman.

    The Oliver Springs Bobcats and Lady ’Cats made the trip to Fentress County Friday night, but the trip was not a good one as Clarkrange took a pair of games.

    The Lady ’Cats gave the eight-time state champion Lady Buffaloes a battle for three quarters, but Clarkrange pulled away late for a 55-41 victory.

    The Mt. Pisgah Christian Academy Patriots traveled to Seymour Community Christian School Friday night and rolled to an easy 54-14 victory.

    The Patriots had no trouble on Friday as they allowed no more than six points in any of the four quarters of action.

    There wasn’t a lot of drama at Oliver Springs Middle School Thursday night as the Bobcats and visiting Coalfield split a pair of lopsided games.

    To say it was an off night for the Kingston Lady Jackets was an understatement as nothing seemed to click for the Connie Guinn’s squad in a 61-40 loss to the Sequoyah Lady Chiefs.

    Roane County’s two green teams met on the hardwood Thursday night and it would be the Rockwood Middle School Tigers and Lady Tigers picking up a pair of wins over Midway.

    In the girls game, Midway stayed close for a half, but Rockwood dominated the final 12 minutes of play on their way to a 51-27 victory.

    The boys game was never close as Rockwood scored the first 11 points of the game and never looked back in picking up a 50-26 victory.

  • Midway splits with Oakdale


    The Oakdale Lady Eagles rallied late for a 40-36 win over the Lady Green Waves and the Midway boys won a back and forth affair over the Eagles, 67-63, Tuesday night at Oakdale.

  • Kingston blows past Sweetwater


    The 2013-14 basketball season hasn’t got off to a great start for the Kingston Yellow Jackets and Lady Jackets, but that all changed Tuesday night when Kingston swept a pair of games from visiting Sweetwater.
